Recent sightings
Gorongosa NP's logo is the lion and this is definitely for a reason! We have had some of the most amazing lion sightings in and around camp over the last month. Lions sizing up our housekeeper. Lionesses checking out the kitchen. A loving lion couple doing their thing on the road to camp. A just-about-there male resting outside our guides tent and roaring the night away. A frockling brother & sister playing in the river bed. Yep, it has been lion central at camp recently!
The elephants are also very much around - although still remembering the war days, not always as friendly as we would like. But still loads of fun to watch.

Birding around camp has been a bird-nerd's dream with Narina Trogans chilling above our mess tent, a Pel's Fishing Owl resident opposite our camp & a Palm Nut Vulture seen reguarly on our morning walks along the river. Not to mention all the fish eagles, kingfishers, storks, herons that daily do their displays for us whilst we leisurely eat yummy breakfasts by the river.

So with the flights making Gorongosa so much easier - come and visit. We would love to have you.
