LETTER FROM BORIS JOHNSON, MAYOR OF LONDON

Dear MANUEL,

London has been the scene of some furious canvassing for the European elections, and today we've finally reached the day of reckoning.

Once the polls shut at 10pm tonight, there'll be no more leaflets shoved into your hands at train stations, no more canvassers knocking on your door, and no more Party Election Broadcasts interrupting your evening's viewing - well, for a while at least.

But 10pm also marks the end of your chance to Vote for Change.

Because make no mistake - these elections really matter. Not just because Conservative MEPs will fight for the sort of things Brussels needs more of: delivering more for less, cleaning up the political system and, of course, giving us the referendum on the EU Constitution that we were promised.

But because these elections are a chance to tell Gordon Brown and his dysfunctional Government that we need a General Election right now.

So make sure you head on down to your local polling station before 10pm tonight and cast your vote for the Conservatives. You can also send this email on to all your friends and family to make sure they do likewise.

And once you've had your say in the European elections, head to the Conservatives website and sign our petition calling for a General Election as soon possible.

If enough people sign up, we may be able to make the unthinkable happen and get Gordon Brown to listen for the first time in his career.

That is surely something worth aiming for.

Best wishes,

Boris Johnson
