LETTER FROM DAVID CAMERON

Dear Manuel,

It's a good job I don't write a weekly letter - who knows when you would get it?

The postal strikes have caused a backlog of millions of letters and parcels - and there are threats of even more strikes next week. The tragic thing about these strikes is that they are not only bad for the economy and all those who use the Royal Mail - they're also bad for all those who work for the Royal Mail and care about its future.

The Government has a lot to answer for. It gave way to the unions on partly privatising the Royal Mail, and now, sensing weakness, they're holding us all to ransom with these strikes. Yet again, we're seeing what happens when you have a government - a Prime Minister - unwilling to provide the leadership we need.

The other big issue this week was something which we all need to take responsibility for tackling: the fascist British National Party is back in the news. Their leader was on the BBC's Question Time and - as you can see in this video - Sayeeda Warsi and everyone there made it very clear that there is nothing British about what the BNP stands for.

We've had a lot of problems with our political system recently, but I think the way the British people don't tolerate the politics of intolerance is something we can still be proud of.
