Latin American Inter Parliamentary Conference on Citizen Security

The proliferation of small arms and light weapons is a major threat to development, democracy and security in many parts of the world, and hence a serious concern for parliamentarians world-wide. Latin America is one of the regions most affected by the terrible consequences that easy access to weapons imposes on society. Problems related to insecurity, firearms and crime are of prime concern to its citizens.

The next event of the Parliamentary Forum will be an Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Citizen Security to be held in the National Congress of Argentina on the 14th and 15th of May, organized by the Parliamentary Forum on Small Arms and Light Weapons in cooperation with the Secretary General of the Latin American Parliament. A draft program will available on this website shortly.

Conference language will be Spanish and English.

If you are interested in participating in this event, please contact Teresa Dybeck at dybeck@parlforum.
