The deadline is 31 May for Member States to send their views on armed violence and development to the UN Secretary-General. The consultation relates to the 2006 Geneva Declaration on Armed Violence and Development, which recognises the strong connection between preventing armed violence and promoting socio-economic and political development. Civil society groups around the world are working with their governments on national submissions, using guidelines available on the IANSA website: www.iansa.org/campaigns_events/UNSGconsultations_armed_violence.htm
