"Violence in Congo not a national problem"



The causes of the heinous sexual crimes that are being committed against Congolese women are found in the powerful economic interests invested in the region. This was made clear by this years’ receiver of the Olof Palme Memorial Fund prize Dr. Denis Mukwege when he spoke at Sida on Wednesday. His recipe for ending the violence is a greater political commitment from leaders of the Great Lakes Region.
