Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) released a statement on 09 April 2008 expressing their concerns over the closure of Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) National Command Centre before announcement of the Presidential results. ZESN fears the closure of the command centre closes the door of communication between the ZEC and its stakeholders. The statement can be accessed through the following link:

Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP) issued its third information alert today 10 April 2008 . ZPP expresses its serious concerns about reports of harassment, intimidation and the general unrelenting disregard of rule of law threatening to cause the dissolution of peace in the country. Please find attached statement.
The Media Monitoring Project Zimbabwe (MMPZ) released its 21st daily media update yesterday. In this latest issue, MMPZ criticises the government sponsored media for the distortion in their reporting of post election developments. The media is alleged to have been making allegations citing unnamed sources that Tsvangirai the MDC leader is scared of facing President Mugabe in the run-off and calling the US to invade Zimbabwe .
The SADC media practitioners issued a statement in Johannesburg on 09 April 2008 . SADC media practitioners and their international partners who are currently meeting in Johannesburg “note with gravest concern the unacceptable delay in the release of Presidential results in Zimbabwe .” They call upon SADC, African Union and United Nations to respond to the unfolding situation.
Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) issued an alert yesterday further to the statement sent out yesterday with confirmed arrests of Zimbabwe Electoral Commission Personnel. ZHLR calls on the Chairperson of ZEC to immediately provide a public explanation.
