Miss Mozambique UK 2010

Join us for an evening of fashion and entertainment and elegance in the inspirational setting of the Palm Hotel, London.

The beautiful contestants will spread their beauty and light up the show in three different outfits: Traditional Mozambican cloths followed by Bikini / Swim wear and finally Cocktail/Evening Dresses. All design and created by Chilabe Collections and Maria Sewing-Line.

At the end of the catwalk they will be each asked a question by the jury, as they are being tested not only for beauty but personality and character aswell. This will help the jury to decide who is the most beautiful Mozambican young lady resident here in UK and will win, amongst other prizes,the so wanted trip to Mozambique!

Throughout the show we will have different performances from the group Xipane Pane, a well established group that started in Portugal more than 10 years ago.

Here is the full scheduled programe:


7:30pm: Doors Open and Guests are free to enjoy the welcome cocktail. They will then be escorted to their designated seats and medium level music will be played in the background. Tables will be settled with light finger/nibble snacks until Buffet Dinner is served.


8.00: Dinner will be served followed by Dessert (please check menu below). VIP guests will be complemented with bottle of wine and other drinks.


Yours Hosts Ivo e Tania will open the show and talk you through all that’s happening on the evening. They will also be translating from English to Portuguese as the evening goes by to ensure everyone will enjoy the show confortably. And then, the real show begins as follows:

9:00pm to 9:20pm: Miss Mozambique contestants in the traditional Mozambican clothes.

9:20pm to 9:45pm: Live music and performance by the group Xipane-pane

9:45pm to 10:00pm: Contestants walking the stage in Bikini/ Swim wear

10:00pm to 10:15pm: Live music with the group Xipane-pane

10:15pm to 10:30pm: Contestants on their final evening wear

10:30pm to 10:45pm: Jury will ask each two questions to the contestants

10:45pm to 11:00pm: Live music with the group Xipane-pane

11:00pm to 11:15pm: The jury will announce who is Mozambican most beautiful young lady resident the UK

10:45pm to 03:00am: Club / party time with MasterHugo and Dj Dust providing the best selection of up to date tracks and will give a little taste of the past too (Marrabenta, Kizomba, Zouk, Semba, Soukous, Old School, Kuduro, House and more)



The Menu:


Caril de Amendoim- Peanut Curry is one of the typical dishes of Mozambiqu. Despite its name, the dish takes no curry powder. For Mozambicans, curry sauce is the liquid which is added to rice or maize porridge.


Macofo- Peanut and coconut stew cooked with greens and served with Xima (corn porridge)


Feijoada- Bean Stew, cooked with a viarity of meats and Portuguese chorizo served with rice.


Caldeirada- Lamb casserole. Cooked with potatoes, peppers and Portuguese chorizo.


Chicken piri piri- Grilled chicken seasoned with herbs and spices. Can be served hot, medium or mild.
