JOINT STATEMENT BY THE HEADS OF MISSION OF THE EU MEMBER STATES IN MOZAMBIQUE ON THE ATTACK ON DAVIZ SIMANGO IN NACALA- PORTO
'The heads of mission of the European Union member states and the European Commission in Mozambique condemn the attack on the leader of the MDM that took place on the 9 of June. It is crucial in any multiparty democracy that all political parties are able to campaign freely and safely and function without hindrance, especially in the run up to elections. We urge all Mozambican political party leaders to condemn political violence and encourage their party members, supporters and citizens in general to allow other parties the space to campaign freely and safely.'

DECLARAÇÃO CONJUNTA DOS CHEFES DE MISSÃO DOS ESTADOS MEMBROS DA UNIÃO EUROPEIA EM MOÇAMBIQUE SOBRE O ATENTADO À DAVIS SIMANGO EM NACALA-PORTO

Os Chefes de Missão dos Estados Membros da União Europeia e a Comissão Europeia em Moçambique condenam o atentado contra o líder do partido MDM que ocorreu no dia 9 de Junho. Na democracia multipartidária é crucial que todos os partidos políticos tenham a possibilidade de fazer campanhas de forma livre e segura e operar sem obstáculos, especialmente em vésperas de eleições. Apelamos a todos os líderes de partidos políticos moçambicanos para que condenem a violência política e encorajem os membros dos seus partidos, simpatizantes e cidadãos em geral a permitirem que outros partidos possam fazer as suas campanhas livremente e em segurança.
