HUMAN RIGHTS, JUSTICE AND DEVELOPMENT

Number of labor conflicts reached 8000 in 2008
The sectors of civil construction, tourism, private security, and
timber, are those that registered the highest numbers of labor conflicts
and illegalities in 2008. The number of labor conflict cases tends to
increase every year, as a result of a higher degree of consciousness
amonst workers of their rights. The problems they present to the
Ministry of Work are in major part related to their safety, work
timetable and racism.
