The first contracts for the creation of the new one-stop Lebombo border post have been awarded.
Arthur Coy , CEO of Trans Africa Concessions, told Cargo Info Africa that two small contracts were awarded on Wednesday following a meeting with the various stakeholders. Fencing of the entire border post area is set to start soon, while the contract for the redirection of pedestrians has also been awarded.
“The final drawings and budget have yet to be approved, but it is very positive to see the entire project move one step further towards the creation of a very sophisticated border post.”
