Ai Tourism Summit + Tourism Projects Awards 26-27 February 2009 Maputo Mozambique

Dear MCLI Readers

As a follow-up to the Africa investor (Ai) Tourism Awards held at the Park Hyatt in February 2008, Africa Investor is once again bringing together leading investment professionals focusing on Africa's Tourism as part of their portfolio. For your consideration, please find attached a provisional program to the Ai Tourism Projects Summit & Ai Tourism Awards scheduled to take place on the 27th of February 2009 in Maputo Mozambique.

The African region as a whole has opportunities on offer , which feature a mixture of new facilities and existing ones that need to be refurbished and upgraded, however even though there has been significant progress that has been made , tourism growth in the SADC region has not yet reached levels that it had the potential to achieve.

There has been two factors which have particularly hindered tourism growth, shortage of well packaged and bankable projects, and limited awareness in the investment community about the existing tourism opportunities in the region, thus therefore this Summit will raise awareness of the region's significant investment potential and market a portfolio of unique and packaged tourism investment opportunities, with South Africa with an estimated value worth close to a Billion of Rands, in investment opportunities .

The one day summit will cover sessions such as: Improving the Investment Climate For Tourism Projects, 2010 as a catalyst for Africa to host global events, Analysing the Tourism Investment Climate for the 2010 World Cup, Improving the Infrastructure for Tourism, Luxury and Eco-Tourism Projects in Africa, Government Roundtables and will bring together decision makers from institutional investment community to engage with Tourism project sponsors, financiers, arrangers and developers to discuss current opportunities.

Africa Investor will also host the Second Annual Pan-African Tourism Investor Awards on the evening of the 27th of February. The awards are designed to showcase Africa's opportunities and achievement to the rest of the world, collectively raise awareness about Africa as a tourist destination and reward those groups developing the African tourism industry as a vehicle to drive sustainable economic growth.

I have attached a copy of the registration form (NOTE: Links Below) so you can reserve your seat as soon as possible, we have limited seating on this event, so early booking is essential. Please keep in mind that the agenda is still under development and may change slightly.

As for the registration fees, to those that may have budgetary constraints, l will gladly review the fees as we have just entered into a new year with most financial quotas beginning only after April.

Registration will officially be closing by the 20th of Feb 2009.
