Dear MANUEL,
Today we launch our national campaign on Labour's Debt Crisis. Up and down the country we've placed posters of a beautiful, young baby - the most precious thing in the world - along with an extremely stark message. Why have we done this? It's simple.
Gordon Brown's borrowing is undermining our economy and threatening our children's future. Every baby born in Britain this year will be burdened with his debt - £17,000 each, to be precise. It will take them decades to pay off. The worst of it is that Labour aren't achieving anything with their extra borrowing for the pointless VAT cut - which has now been criticised even by leading retailers. They are sacrificing tomorrow purely for the political convenience of today.
That's why this poster is so urgent. We've got to stop this Government before their next borrowing binge, their next spending splurge - before they do any more damage to our children's future.
I think the next generation deserves better. An economy built on savings, not debt. A country and a government that lives within its means, not beyond it. A future where tax cuts are for life, not just for headlines. A future of hope, not despair.
